Welded metal bellows seals remove the most common causes of failure: they have no dynamic sealing elements such as O-rings or wedges, which cause shaft grooving and fretting. Replacing springs with metal bellows gives even loading and self-cleaning, which prevents clogging. Most commonly used for thermic fluid applications.
